(a) The "Hwa Shiang Pao" of 17/3, argues against Kuo Min Tang tendency to blame all evils - fires, speculation, depreciation of currency, inflated prices, etc. on communistic activities.
(b) The "Wah Kiu Yat Po" of 17/3, welcomes the political reforms envisaged by Kuo Min Tang third Central Executive Committee Plenary Session.
(c) The "Wah Kiu Yat Po" of 18/3, blames the Communists for the con- tinuation of the Civil War.
(d) The "Kung Sheung Daily Press" of 18/3, stresses the need for im- proved pay for Government servants.
(e) The "Kung Sheung Daily Press" of 19/3, opposes foreign, particu- larly American, interference in China's internal affairs. The present internal troubles are accepted as traditional but "the future of China is still bright.' 11

Comments on Colonial Matters.
The "Kung Sheung Daily Press" of 19/3 is indignant with the arti- cles on the Chinese situation by the "Times" correspondent in Hong Kong and the Manager of the 'Associated Press" in Shanghai. Exception is taken to the proposals to limit immigration of destitutes, and indignation is ex- pressed at the complaints by foreigners to do business in China.
4. Comments on International Matters.
(a) The "Wah Kiu Yat Po" of 17/3, fears that as a result of the Moscow Conference, China will be sacrificed again.
(b) The "Kung Sheung Daily Press" of 18/3 rather approves of Soviet opposition to Anglo-American co-operation in Greece, Turkey, and Yugoslavia. The "Wah Shiang Pao" of 21/3 wishes British troops to leave Greece in order to maintain friendship with Russia.
(c) The "Wah Kiu Yat Po" Nanking Special Correspondent, 18/3, states that the Democratic League favours British, American and Russian mediation in China's present troubles.
(a) The "Sing Tao Jih Pao" of 18/3 believes that America will arm Japan against the Soviets, but hopes Russia, America and China, having ample territory themselves, will combine to keep Japan suppressed.
(e) The "National Times" of 20/3 in a long and rather better reasoned article than usual supports Anglo-Chinese Trade Agreements, and increased trade, particularly through Hong Kong.
